Juan Carlos González Villar named “Engineer of the Year 2019”
The winners of the fourth "Motion Control Industry (MCI) Awards 2019" were revealed on May 22nd at a ceremony held at the National Conference Centre also known as "The National Motorcycle Museum", Solihull. The gala dinner event saw 200 people from across the country gather to celebrate the most significant achievements of motion control companies and individuals in this important industry sector. Development engineer and proprietor of Kabel.Consult.Ing, Juan Carlos González Villar, was named "Engineer of the Year 2019" for his patented Energy Light drive system / Networked Continuously Variable Transmission(s) 4.0.
The fourth MCI Awards were held on May 22, 2019 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham. The evening was produced and managed by Touchwave Media in association with the Motion Control Industry Alliance (currently comprised of the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), the British Fluid Power Distributors Association (BFPDA) and the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS)) and brought together the motion control industry to celebrate business and professional excellence. Hosted by Television and Radio presenter, Penny Smith, with a stunning rock and pop performance by the fabulous Rob Deering, the evening was heralded a great success. The achievements and endeavours of some 32 finalists were presented to the enthralled 200 strong audience in an atmosphere of great anticipation, before the nine worthy winners were revealed as follows:

Juan Carlos González Villar - proprietor of engineering firm Kabel.Consult.Ing and patent holder of the Energy Light drive system - caught the attention of the judges and was named "Engineer of the Year 2019".

Winners and finalists of “Motion Control Industry Awards 2019”
He reacted this way:
"I´m so pleased to have won this important industry award in Great Britain, which has produced brilliant engineers such as Robert Willis and G. J. Abbott. I consider this award to also be a tribute to these pioneers and doyens of mechanical engineering. Without their publications (Patent US2068784 and technical book "Principles of Mechanism"), my patent for the Energy Light drive system would not have been possible."

The Energy Light drive system / Networked Continuously Variable Transmission(s) 4.0 significantly improves the energy efficiency of an application through the use of patented motor technology, cutting-edge process and control methods, and lightweight construction with composite fiber materials. It minimizes drive output during continuous operation, during acceleration, delays, and braking; maximizes corresponding generator output; and standardizes the drive system to become a complex total application. Originally developed for machines that wind / unwind (high-voltage) cables, the principle behind Energy Light drive system / Networked Continuously Variable Transmission(s) 4.0 can be used in numerous other applications as well, including electric vehicles.

About Juan Carlos González Villar
Juan Carlos Gonzalez Villar is proprietor of Kabel.Consult.Ing, Germany, a provider of technical consulting, development, and modernization services for the manufacturing industry. He has 25 years of professional experience and has worked with numerous manufacturers of production machines. Following his graduation from studies in mechanical engineering at Niederrhein University in Krefeld, he joined machine manufacturers FRISCH GmbH as a mechanical engineer. He previously completed vocational training and worked for five years as a machine technician at a manufacturing company in Mönchengladbach. He also took a postgraduate course in industrial engineering at Niederrhein University in Mönchengladbach, with specialization in production technology.
